Chapter Six

“What we doing here?” Sen asked, as they pulled into the back of the chop shop.

The chop shop was an old auto shop one of Big Meechi’s crew members owned before he got knocked. No one in his family wanted to take over the shop, so they closed it down. It had been abandoned for some time now, but it was finally about to get put to use. Meechi and his Uncle Eddie were the only two people, besides the man’s oldest son that had a key to the spot.

“You ask the dumbest questions. You know why we here,” Meechi said cutting his car off.

“I’m just saying nigga. We ain’t been here since Unc got locked up. We couldn’t meet him somewhere else?”

“Nah, now bring yo ass on and stop asking all them questions,” Meechi said, before hopping out the car.

Smacking his lips, Sen followed suit. Walking toward the back door, he waited for Meechi to open it. It was too damn hot and he was already swatting mosquitoes away. Summer wasn’t even in full effect and the bugs were out to cause damage.

“Do this mufucka work?” Sen hissed.

“You wanna open this mufucka?” Meechi asked, looking over his shoulder, as he tried to pry the door open.

“Nah, do ya thang.”

Finally hearing the click, Meechi pushed the door open. Rubbing his hand against the wall, he located the light switch and brought some light into the dark place. Doing a walkthrough, he looked around at the few pieces of mechanical equipment that hadn’t been touched in over three years. He was surprised no one had broken in the place and stole all of it by now. Walking into the empty garage, he pulled a chair out and went to grab his phone from his pocket to give Carl a call, but he was already calling him.

“Come around back,” Meechi said, answering the phone.

“Alright.”

Getting out of his seat, he walked to the back door, while Sen pulled out two chairs. Taking his gun off safety, Meechi pulled the door open and waited for Carl to walk in. He knew he wasn’t on no sneaky shit, but he could never be too sure. That’s what had gotten him in that predicament in the first place.

“Whoa! What’s the gun for Meechi,” Carl said, walking in with a bag in his hand.

“Making sure you ain’t got nobody with you,” Meechi replied in a dry tone before closing and locking the door.

With his bag in hand, Carl walked toward the garage with Meechi right behind him. Whatever he had in the bag had piqued his interest and he couldn’t wait to see what was inside. Standing to his feet, Sen gave Carl some dap before sitting back down.

“What’s in the bag,” Sen asked nosily.

“Straight to it huh?” Carl replied, taking a seat.

“Business is business,” Meechi replied taking his seat as well.

“Well, alright then. I guess we’ll get started,” Carl replied, as he began to pull his products from the zipped up duffle bag.

The first item being a package of blueberries he had recently picked up from the store.
